ANNE KIRCHMEIER CASULARO

Anne Kirchmeier  Casularo studied the recorder at the conservatories of Lausanne, Bienne and Berlin with Elisabeth Mülli and Gerd Lünenbürger.  

Winner of the National Competition for Musical Execution of Riddes and the Ernst Göhner Foundation, she has performed numerous concerts in Europe, recorded for various radios and televisions and produced several CDs devoted to unpublished works by authors of the 18th and 19th centuries.

The musicological research that she pursues has led her to rediscover little-known instruments of the 19th century such as the flageolets and the czakan and to make them known during concerts, seminars and recordings.

A teacher since 1990 at the Conservatoire du Valais, she formed the quartet Le Zéphyr there in 1999; in 2001 the Flute Players, as well as in 2011 the Recorder Harmony of the Conservatory.

In 2011, she created an introductory workshop to composition "Music in images & Stories in music" using the imagination of children. Since 2015 she has been teaching the recorder at the pre-professional level at the Istituto Nazareth in Rome.

Pedagogical manager of the Société valaisanne de la Flûte, she chairs the Flatus Association (whose Festival has presented musical rarities since 1995 and organizes seminars for the discovery of little-known repertoires), the L. de Vinci Cultural Research Association as well as the musicology society Orchestra Society of the city of Sion, for which she conducted in 2014 the operetta “Un Carnaval à Savièze” by Valais composer Charles Haenni.
